Julia Wright is an artist and writer living in a small mountain town where artists, environmentalists, writers and holistic healers abound.
I published “Lessons From Past Floods: Destruction, Restoration, and Preparation” early in 2013. This book was meant to act as a wake-up call for members of the community that were not taking the threat of flooding occurring again very seriously in the wake of a fire in 2012 that left thousands of acres as hydrophobic soil above us.
It morphed into a book that any one could use the information in it to be more prepared for any type of natural disaster they might experience.
But even I wasn’t as prepared as I should have been for what happened during the summer of 2013.
Flood water raged through many areas up the pass from Manitou Springs and into our historic district again, and again.
There will be a sequel to my flood book, something I had hoped never to have had to write. But life is full of surprises, some more fun than others.
Before writing “Lessons”, I wrote “Discover Essential Oils for Optimum Health” as a way to introduce people to essential oils without the overwhelm factor that happened when I just talked about them.
I revamped a friend’s “Handbook To Health” and it has become even more popular than it was in the past.
Plus, I wrote a few books using some Public Domain content as the base, mixed with my photos and thoughts. Some of these are very popular in the European markets on Kindle.
I have about four other books in the works, but the flooding and a couple of other life challenges slowed my progress in 2013.
In my life, I have been “to Hell and back” physically, emotionally and spiritually more times than I care to count. But always faced each new challenge with positive, solution based attitude. So I did come back each time, stronger than before.
How I handled these different challenges, and my often very glitchy world, are approaches to life that I want to share to help others, and are more books awaiting to be written.
HieroGraphics Books LLC is now ready for 2014 and anticipating publishing more of my own books and helping others get published.
